IELTS practice - frequently asked questions

Does Practet have both Academic and General Training?

Yes. Listening and Speaking are the same for both. Reading and Writing Task 1 differ, so pick the right version during onboarding or with Switch course. One IELTS plan covers both.

Are Practet bands the same as the real IELTS?

Reading and Listening use the standard raw-score-to-band conversion. Writing and Speaking are scored by AI using the public IELTS band descriptors. They're a strong guide, but a certified examiner may differ slightly, so treat them as an estimate.

Can I retake a test?

Yes. With active access you can retake any practice or mock test as many times as you like. Each attempt gets its own report in Reports.

Can I pause a mock test?

Reading and Listening run on a timer like the real test. You can Save & Exit from the Options menu and continue later from the test list. The Full Mock Test saves progress between modules.

My writing report is taking a long time.

Most reports are ready in under a minute. At busy times it can take a little longer. Keep the page open, or turn on notifications and we'll tell you when it's ready. If you see an error, reload the page. Contact support if it keeps failing.

I submitted by accident.

Submitted answers can't be changed, the same as in the real exam. Start a new attempt.
