Practise single Listening parts or full mock tests. The audio plays once, just like the real exam.
Open Listening from the side menu (web) or Home (app).
Part practice
Practise Part 1, 2, 3 or 4 on its own to build focus on one kind of recording:
- Part 1: an everyday conversation (e.g. booking, enquiry). Form and note completion.
- Part 2: a monologue about an everyday topic. Maps, matching and multiple choice.
- Part 3: a conversation in an education or training setting.
- Part 4: an academic lecture. Usually note completion.
Listening mock tests
All four parts in one test with 40 questions, timed like test day.
Before you start
- Use headphones in a quiet room.
- Check your volume with the device check. See Check your device before you practise.
- The start screen explains: You will not be permitted to pause or rewind the audio while answering the questions. Click Play to begin.
During the test
- The audio plays once. Read the questions for each section before its recording starts.
- Type or choose answers as you listen. You can move between questions with the bar at the bottom.
- Watch the word limit (e.g. NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS). Extra words make an answer wrong.
- Spelling counts.
When you've finished, click Submit. Your report is ready at once. See Understanding your Reading and Listening reports.
Tips
- Predict the kind of answer before you hear it (a number, a name, a place).
- In map questions, work out where "you are" on the map first.
- Don't stop to think about a missed answer. Move straight on to the next one.
