Understanding your PTE Speaking report
Content, fluency and pronunciation scores, the colour-coded transcript, speaking rate and the sounds to correct.
A speaking report shows your score for the task and exactly how your speech was heard.
Overview
Your score for the task and its traits (for example Content, Oral Fluency and Pronunciation), with Strengths, Areas for Improvement and Suggestions.
AI Speech to Text
Your answer as the AI heard it, coloured word by word:
- 🟢 Good: clear and correct
- 🟠 Average: understandable, but could be clearer
- 🔴 Poor / Mispronounced
- ~~Struck-through~~: an extra word you said that isn't in the script
- Dotted underline: a missing word that's in the script but you didn't say
Play Your Recording and the words highlight as you listen.
Speaking rate
Shows whether you spoke Slow, at the ideal pace, or Fast. Aim for the middle. Rushing hurts pronunciation, and slow speech hurts fluency.
Sounds to Correct
The specific sounds (phonemes) you mispronounced most, so you know what to practise.
Correct Answer
For tasks with a fixed answer (Repeat Sentence, Answer Short Question), the report shows the expected answer.
