OET Listening sub-test

Start a test

1. Open Listening from the OET menu.
2. Pick a test from the list.

During the test

The test is split into parts, as in the real OET:

• Part A: consultation extracts. Complete the practitioner's notes.
• Part B: short workplace extracts. Answer one multiple-choice question each.
• Part C: longer presentations or interviews. Answer multiple-choice questions.

Rules, as in the exam:

• Each recording plays once and cannot be paused or replayed. The screen shows Audio is playing — you cannot pause or replay it.
• When a recording ends you'll see Audio finished. Complete your answers, then move to the next part.
• Move with Previous and Next, then Finish test.

When you finish, confirm Submit your Listening test? Your answers are scored straight away, and you can't return to the test.

See Understanding your OET results. Listening results show your score by part, and you can read the transcript to find what you missed.

Tips

• In Part A, write exactly what you hear. Abbreviations and spelling mistakes can cost marks.
• Use the short pause before each extract to read the questions.
