Vocabulary - flashcards, word lists, quizzes and typing

Open Vocabulary (Learn Vocabulary on the dashboard). Words are grouped into topic categories such as Education, Work, Environment and Technology.

Browse a category

Click View Words on a category to see its list with each word and its type. You can:

• Search the list (Search words...)
• Filter by All, Familiar or Unfamiliar
• Tap a word to see its meaning, and click Save to add it to My Word List

Flashcards

Click Flashcards (or Learn Words):

1. You see a word: Do you know this word?
2. Click Show meaning (or tap the card) to see the meaning.
3. Mark it as known or Unfamiliar. Unfamiliar words come back more often.

The top of the screen shows the Current Word and Words Mastered. Click Start Over to go through the set again.

My Word List

Your personal list of saved words. Revise it with flashcards whenever you like, and remove words once you know them.

Vocabulary practice (quiz)

Adaptive questions that get harder as you improve, with instant explanations:

• Answer, click Check Answer, and read the explanation if you got it wrong. Then click Next Question.
• Skip a question you want to leave.
• View History shows past questions.
• The summary shows your last 7 days: Total Time, Questions Practiced, Accuracy and Mastery.

When you've done every question available, you'll see All caught up!

Typing practice

Type words as they appear, to build spelling accuracy and speed. This helps with Listening and dictation. Your stats show Words Typed, Accuracy, Avg WPM and Keystrokes.
