Update your goal band or score and your exam date. They drive your dashboard, progress tracking and Study Plan.
Your target score and exam date power several parts of Practet:
- the target shown on your dashboard, which your average score is compared with
- the Exam Countdown
- your Study Plan, which spreads tasks up to your exam date
Update them
- Web: go to Profile → Target score (the Set Your Goals page). App: go to More → Target Score.
- Choose your Exam Date. It must be in the future.
- Set your targets:
- IELTS: an Overall Target plus a target for each module (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking), in 0.5 band steps
- PTE: 10–90
- OET: 0–500
- Save. You'll see Target scores updated successfully.
After you change your exam date
Your Study Plan doesn't rebuild itself automatically. Open Study Plan and click Regenerate Study Plan so the daily tasks fit the new date.
Choosing a realistic target
- Check what your university, employer or registration board requires. For example, many nursing and medical boards ask for OET Grade B (350) in each sub-test.
- Set module targets too. A 7.0 overall with a 6.0 in Writing may not meet a "no band below 6.5" requirement.
