OET Fee and Registration
Booking your Occupational English Test, step by step.
The fee
The OET fee is set in local currency for each country and is reviewed periodically. As a guide it is around AUD 587 (roughly USD 380-450 / GBP 300-350) for a single sitting of all four sub-tests. Because pricing changes and varies by region, always check the current fee for your country on the official site before you pay.
Test formats
You can sit OET at an approved test centre, or take OET@Home - a fully remote version taken on your own computer under live remote invigilation. Both are accepted by the same regulators; check that your board accepts the OET@Home result if you choose the remote option.
How to register
- Create a free account on the official OET website.
- Choose your profession, then a test date and either a test centre or OET@Home.
- Upload the photo ID (normally a passport) you will use on test day.
- Pay the fee by card to confirm the booking.
Test dates run most months. Book two to four weeks ahead to secure your preferred date and location, as popular slots fill early.
Rescheduling and cancellation
You can usually reschedule or withdraw for a partial refund up to a set number of days before the test, with the refund amount decreasing as the date approaches. Requests inside the final week are generally not refundable. The exact windows are published in the OET terms at the time you book.
Preparing after you book
