OET offers profession-specific Writing and Speaking materials for 12 healthcare fields. Listening and Reading are the same for everyone.

Key requirements

Age & ID

No academic prerequisite. Recommended age 18+; under-16s are not accepted. Bring the same valid photo ID (usually a passport) at booking and on test day.

Attempts

No limit on the number of sittings and no waiting period between them. Some regulators let you combine grades from two nearby sittings.

Validity

Results are generally accepted for two years from the test date - the final rule is set by the organisation you apply to.
